BBQ season has officially hit Berlin and we can feel the future of the early spring days fading into long summer nights. The bustling atmosphere of the big city has its charms but we’ve been dreaming of beers and bonfires in a big backyard.

Open ranges and the cowboy (or girl!) lifestyle always seems romantic and a few steps closer to nature than our urban lifestyles. We could build and tend our own gardens, saddle up and go for a ride or camp under the stars, in peace.

We like to imagine that the freedoms and solitude of country life aren’t often coupled with hard physical labor and long distances between home and school, work or a social life. The country definitely puts us in tune with nature, something we can all enjoy, but in reality there are ways to incorporate farming into metropolitan life in order to get some of the best aspects of both worlds.
